Clinical Management of Thromboembolic Disorders in Pregnancy

      Thromboembolic disorders remain a leading cause of maternal morbidity and mortality. With prompt diagnosis and treatment, the risks associated with this uncommon pregnancy complication can be managed effectively. In the future, heparin prophylaxis beginning in the first trimester in selected patients will play a larger role in preventing recurrent thromboemboli.
